Agency Launches New Performance Measurement Website

posted Jan 28, 2010 8:09 AM by Darrell Blenniss

This past year the management team has been working diligently on identifying metrics that can demonstrate the Agency's performance. These metrics have been placed within a framework to help summarize the data and to allow for the public, our member communities, and staff to better determine if the Agency is accomplishing its mission while adhering to its core values.

These metrics are presented using the Balanced Scorecard Framework. This framework is a common tool used successfully in the private sector to gauge performance and monitor improvement. The framework is divided into four perspectives: Financial, Business Process, Customer, and Human Capital. All of the metrics are placed into these perspectives. Each metric was selected as it can help demonstrate the Agency's goals of accomplishing the mission, vision, and values.

Providing these metrics through web based tools was an attempt to leverage existing technologies and to make public access as convenient as possible. It is our attempt to improve transparency and to improve the public's understanding of what we do and how we do it. While this site will always be a work in progress as we continue to update and improve the data it contains, we felt that it was ready for use by our member communities and the general public.

Agency Launches New Website

posted Jan 28, 2010 8:01 AM by Darrell Blenniss   [ updated Jan 28, 2010 8:36 AM ]

One of the requests of the Board of Directors for staff in FYE 2010 was to better utilize technology. One of the most visible uses of technology is the Agency's website. With this in mind, staff has set out to improve this valuable communication tool. Our goals were to provide more information and to reduce costs.

Currently the Agency uses the Google Apps suite of products for email, contacts, documents, and calendaring functions. One of the benefits of Google Apps was the inclusion of Sites. Sites allows the Agency to create websites. We are no longer reliant on third parties to update our website. Updates can be done quickly allowing us to respond better to the needs of our member communities.

Google will host the Agency's website but all updates are done in-house with existing personnel. This will save money. In addition, Google provides a 99.99% up-time guarantee.

In all, the new website offers more information, reduced costs, and better reliability. Enjoy!
